Honey Jalapeno Chicken ~ Sweet, Spicy, Sexy

Can we say this dish is sexy? Its sweet, its spicy, and seared in sexual innuendo...just look real hard at the dish.....
Honey Jalapeno Chicken is my reformulation of a real simple low-carb recipe I found online. The original dish was called "Salt and Pepper Chicken" and it also included Jalapenos. After enjoying S&P Chicken, I went all Ursula in my spice cabinet and grabbed the nearest potion I could think of to jazz up this dish...Honey!

It was once currency, a sacred substance, and used as an aphrodisiac. Stolen from bees this stuff turns an already great dish into a sexy one.

Seared and caramelized chicken thighs dripping in sweet honey, complimented by the sharp and spicy kick of jalapenos. Oooh its so sensuous!

This dish is as easy as taking your knickers off I promise! It tastes amazing, and if you are cooking for more than just one, your S/O will love it too!
This can easily become a weekly dinner staple, or you can bring it to potlucks if you aren't greedy and eat it all to yourself like I do.

Just A Warning
Make sure when you are buying Jalapenos for this dish to get JALAPENOS and not SERRANOS. I made the dingbat mistake of carelessly grabbing green chili shaped things I thought were Jalapenos, during prep I left almost all the seeds in them (because I like spicy) and chucked them ALL into the pan... Well, long story short.. I suffered for it before, during, and afterwards! Not sexy..

HONEY JALAPENO CHICKEN ~ SWEET SPICY SEXY

  • 6-8 Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs
  • 3-4 Jalapenos cut into rounds, seeded (depending on spicy preference)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
Marinate whole chicken thighs in salt, pepper and garlic powder for about 10 minutes.

Heat a pan on medium high add some oil and sear the chicken thighs smooth side down until browned.

Flip chicken over and cook until no longer pink.

Take chicken out and slice into strips then put them back in the pan, and cook for a few minutes or until done.

Add Jalapenos and saute until jalapenos are starting to soften.

Add one tablespoon honey and stir constantly, keep stirring until chicken begins to have a sexy caramelized color to it. Once chicken is sexified add one more tablespoon of honey and stir for about 4 more minutes. Remove from heat and enjoy!
